These night lights are better than those that stay on all night since they only come on when it picks up motion and then they turn off. If you need constant light go with the others but if you need an area to provide a little light without turning on the house lights this is a great option. I have them in the halls, kitchens, BATHROOMS, and babies room. I especially love them at 2am when you are trying to make a bottle for a crying baby and don't want to turn all the lights on.

Works great but I installed it in my un heated garage and 2 times when it was really cold the lights stayed on all the time. It gets really cold here in Iowa, 20 below or more, and the cold seems to make it stay on at that temp but it works good when it gets above 0. Other than that it is real sensitive to motion if set correct for light and posistion. I bought it because the light switch is about 8 feet from the entrance door in my garage, and it got to be a hassle to stumble thruogh the dark to get to the switch to turn on the lights. It was easy to install and cheaper than having to rewire another switch by the door. It works good for me, I open the door and as soon as I step inside the lights come on, and will shut off at the time you set, unless it gets really cold. If not for that I would have give it 5 stars.

There are a few 1 star reviews on here for this product so I thought those need to be countered with a 5 star review for how well this product works with incandescent lights. I cannot attest to use with fluroscent lights, but I have now installed 4 of these in my home (pantry, laundry room, and two closets). All have worked flawlessly for a year or more now.

I like the fact that you can adjust the time from 5 seconds to 20 minutes, allows for flexibility. Installation was a breeze (if you have ever installed a light switch before you'll have no problem with this). Works well, you walk in and "boom" light goes on and always goes out at time indicated. I live with people who love to leave lights on all over the house so this has been a real help to me.

I used this plug and sensor in my kitchen. I installed puck lighting under the cabinets and then use the plug and sensor. lights automatically come on as i enter the kitchen. I didn't give it a full 5 stars cause I technically didn't use the item as intended. I just turned down the volume on the alarm so it doesn't go off. So there are more uses for the product than just security. The sensor and the plug are only feet away from each other. Maybe this is the reason for it working so great for me. Im purchasing another for my garage.

Without doubt, this is the best solar powered motion light on the market.

I bought three different solar powered motion lights eighteen months ago. Two are LED based and this one which is halogen. This particular unit is the heaviest and bulkiest of all three, but it has been the best in every way since I bought it.

The quality of lighting is superb. It provides a very strong light, unlike most of the LED lights which just alter the level of darkness you're standing in. This is one solar light that you can genuinely use as a security light.

I can understand that some people are having trouble with the battery, however. The batteries are lead acid gel batteries that don't particularly cope well with low temperatures and will start to fail more quickly than NiMH batteries. When my battery started to fail about six months ago, I bought another one from a local electrical supplier. The battery I bought is from Panasonic and is especially rated to work in cold conditions and with a higher cycle life than the battery that was installed as standard.

Despite having to replace the battery after one year, I will still give this unit five stars as it is definately the best solar light on the market.
