Cheap Progress Lighting P6037 Black Outdoor Motion Sensor for Par Lampholder Spotlight - P6037 Review
Great Prices on Outdoor Motion Sensor Lights.
I work in Law enforcement. This mini alarm system is by far faster at notifying a number than the alarm companies. The alarm companies call your home before calling law enforcement. this system calls you within 10 seconds of the alarm being activated. The only down-side is it does not call law enforcement. But according to where you live it may be quicker for you to respond before law enforcement does. and alarms are not at the top as far as being a prority for police.
I puchased the Wireless Motion Sensor Alarm and Chime Kit (2 Pack) on amazon to replace another aged system. I was pleased with the equipment and installation simplicity. Being unable to find a "radio controlled" similar alarm system for buget applications, the Infra-red type works well. However, a "line ot sight is needed to set/disable the unit. There is a built-in delay after activation that helps. The supplier, D B Roth, provided great service after determining the units were in stock after a previous dead end attempt.
2 complaints. 1 is that the little knobs you turn to adjust the settings are small and it's hard to read the indicators printed next to them. 2 is that the unit I received is not bronze, it's BLACK.
Instructions were good and the mounting hardware included was much better than the (non-existent) hardware that ships with the 110 degree version. Love the photovoltaic sensor, now I don't have to remember to turn off the lights each morning. Spend a little time getting the settings just right and then sit back and pat your wallet because this same unit costs a lot more at the local hardware store.
I have had a set of these lights for about 2 years and can say they are great, no big deals, they work , they turn off and on just like it says. OK, the little stuff:
I had to mount mine under some wood cabinets and since it is a big metal coin like disk they adhere to this would be great on a smooth flat surface but on wood I had to add some Elmer's Glue to make it stay put. Not a big deal a knife and sandpaper will make it all disappear if I ever care to remove it (without the light its almost invisible anyway)
In a real emergency I wish it had a "stay-on" position but each hour you will have to turn it back on, saves batteries but in a power outage it is a minor pain.
Thats about it, they are BRIGHT (do not look directly into them, not safe) and the batteries last about 1 year give or take a month depending on use. That is with the no0-name batteries that come with it, I put some Ray-O-Vac alkaline batteries in them and sorry it is still running great so you get what you pay for in batteries.
Great for the use, I like the "wave your hand" idea to turn them on -off-dim, it is just a nice little thing if your hands are wet/greasy/dirty you do not have to touch them.
Almost forgot I just ordered 11 more sets for me and a couple for relatives so you can be sure I am pleased.
