These lanterns definitely contribute to a safer environment by providing light when and where we need it. We did a lot of shopping both locally and online before purchasing them, finding many that were similar but twice the price offered by Amazon, particularly when Amazon's free shipping is factored in. The lanterns are much more attractive than shown, beefier and not brassy at all. Best of all, they were easy to install and are working flawlessly. It's almost magical the way the sensors light our path as we pass from one area to another.
